NEAR has evolved beyond its original identity as a general-purpose Layer 1. Its current thesis combines chain abstraction, account infrastructure, artificial-intelligence initiatives and an attempt to make multichain applications less dependent on users understanding the underlying networks.
The broader product vision is credible, although the investment case depends on adoption, developer activity, fee generation and the extent to which ecosystem growth produces demand for NEAR. Technical sophistication alone cannot resolve weak token capture.
